Plant in full sun with plenty of room — it gets enormous. Wear thick gloves and long sleeves when cutting back (razor-sharp leaf edges). Cut to 1 foot in late winter. Check local regulations — invasive in some coastal areas. Dwarf varieties like 'Pumila' are more manageable.
