Red Maple
Acer rubrum
Red Maple is the most widespread native tree in eastern North America — and one of the most spectacular for fall color. The entire canopy ignites in scarlet, crimson, and orange, often the first tree to turn color in autumn. 'October Glory' and 'Red Sunset' are top cultivars. It's fast-growing, adaptable, and thrives in wet or dry soil.
