Viburnums are the Swiss Army knife of shrubs — fragrant spring flowers, colorful berries, great fall foliage, and forms from compact 3-footers to large 15-foot specimens. 'Snowball' (V. opulus) has huge white globes; 'Blue Muffin' (V. dentatum) has electric blue berries; 'Korean Spice' has the most intoxicating fragrance in gardening.

Care Guide

Plant in full sun to partial shade. Moist, well-drained soil preferred. Prune right after flowering. Most species need a different viburnum variety nearby for berry production. Minimal pest issues. Extremely versatile — there's a viburnum for almost every landscape situation.
