Salvias are the backbone of the low-maintenance perennial garden — spiky flowers in electric blue, purple, and pink that bloom for months. 'May Night' won Perennial of the Year and is nearly indestructible. Deer and rabbits avoid them, butterflies love them, and they thrive in heat and drought. Cut back after first flush for a strong rebloom.

Care Guide

Full sun, well-drained soil. Drought tolerant once established. Cut back flower spikes after first bloom by 1/3 for a second flush. Divide every 3-4 years. No fertilizer needed. Rarely any pest or disease issues. One of the easiest perennials to grow.
