Ornamental Alliums are the Dr. Seuss plants of the garden — perfectly round, globe-shaped flower heads on straight stems that look like purple lollipops floating above the garden. 'Globemaster' produces 10-inch diameter spheres; 'Purple Sensation' is the classic mid-sized variety. They're totally deer-proof (onion family), and the dried seed heads are gorgeous for months.

Care Guide

Plant bulbs in fall, 3× the bulb depth. Full sun with well-drained soil. Foliage yellows after bloom — plant among perennials that will hide it. No lifting needed — they're fully perennial. Drought tolerant once dormant. Self-seeds gently. Deer, rabbits, and rodents leave them alone.
